COOLA Organic SPF 30 Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops Sunscreen Review

Best year Round Sunscreen: COOLA Organic SPF 30 Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops Sunscreen Review

Today I am bringing you a skincare review on a sunscreen the COOLA Organic SPF 30 Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops which has been my go to product for protecting my face from sun damage this summer. Let me tell you how it's preformed for me, what I like, dislike, and then let's chat in the comments about what sun protection you guys have been using. Do you wear an SPF everyday?

On to the COOLA Review

COOLA is a new brand to me, and I've been testing out some of their products over the past couple months. They contacted me to send my some of their products, and since I am big on sun care and encouraging others to wear sunscreen, I was happy to try them out.

The Coola Organic SPF 30 Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops are the stand out product of the products I have tried. I have also often been using the COOLA Liplux SPF 30, COOLA Sport Mineral Sunscreen in Citrus Minosa with an SPF of 30 and the COOLA Sport Spray with an SPF of 50. L let me know if the comments if you’d like full reviews on any of these products.

I have been wearing the Sun Silk Drops almost every day as long as I wasn't testing another sunscreen. This sunscreen also blocks blue light from screens so you get total protection with one product. The formula includes hyaluronic acid to increase skin hydration, so I wear this after toning and serums, but skip the moisturizer if my skin isn't extra dry that day.

I like that it's very light on the skin and doesn't leave a film.  It also doesn't irritate my skin even though it does use chemical filters, but has no oxybenzone which is what my skin dislikes (and isn’t ocean safe). Since it uses chemical filters there is no white cast so this will suite those with deeper skin tones. Since it soaks into the skin and almost feels like nothing after it's applied it works great under makeup.

I have very few problems with this product itself, this critique is more on the packaging. As I've used more of the product it's harder to get the amount I need for my face in one pump of the top. Not a deal breaker, but annoying. The top is also fragile, so it’s not travel friendly. I had a few trips this summer and the plastic top cracked on my way to LA.

The packaging is nice, it's sanitary and the bottle is glass. I also like the design of the bottle, simple design with frosted pink glass, so it looks nice in my bathroom. The eyedropper top has a plastic cover so you can depress the button to draw up product, this cracked when I was traveling, so I would depot some for travel or bring a different SPF.

The Coola Organic SPF 30 Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops retails for $46.00 for one ounce. It's pricey for the amount, so I use it for my face only and use a different sunscreen on my décolleté and body.

However, I would repurchase since it offers full protection, is reef/ocean safe, and sits so nicely under makeup. I will be picking up a second bottle next time a visit Sephora since it’s hard to find a sunscreen that works well under multiple foundations (I switch up my base regularly) and this one has worked with all the foundations I’ve tried wearing it with. I won’t forgo sun protection for my base to look nicer.

Pros

Weightless, Sanitary Packaging, Ocean safe, Works great under makeup

Cons

Price, fragile plastic top

The Coola Organic SPF 30 Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops are clear when applied and has no detectable finish, looks similar to a serum on your skin and then soaks in.

The active ingredients/filters are Avobenzone 2%, Homosalate 10%, Octisalate 5%, and Octocrylene 6% and it contains other skin soothing ingredients like aloe, chamomile and jojoba. It is also vegan, organic, cruelty-free and has the "Clean at Sephora" seal.

Overall thoughts

Overall, I think this is a great sunscreen for all skin types. Those with normal to try skin will also want to wear a moisturizer, and those with combination to oily can use this product alone.

Wearing a sunscreen is the best way to combat signs of again and skin cancer and this product is easy to use and works great under makeup. I will continue to use this product, especially during the summer when I want a product with a SPF that doesn't leave my skin greasy or my base slips around with. The Coola Organic SPF 30 Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops are something I would keep in my routine year round and I would repurchase.

What sunscreen have you been wearing lately? Do you wear one sunscreen all over or have one for face and one for body? Let’s chat in the comments!
